Blog Post: Awaken in Flame — The Power of the Morning Spell-Song

In the Temple of Lilith, we understand that how we begin our day shapes not just the hours ahead, but the unfolding of our entire spiritual path. Our first thoughts after waking act as an energetic imprint, a command to the universe and to our own subconscious about who we are, what we deserve, and what we are becoming. This is why the Šegû Sīsu: Morning Song of Power and Dominion is more than poetic verse, it is a weapon, a shield, and a crown!

The Science of the First Thought

Research in neuroscience and psychology supports what mystics have always known: the mind is most impressionable in the moments just after waking. During this transitional phase, known as the hypnopompic state, the brain moves from delta (deep sleep) to theta and alpha waves—states associated with deep meditation and suggestibility.

A 2017 study in Cognitive Neuroscience noted that this period is crucial for memory consolidation and emotional encoding. Another study published in Frontiers in Psychology found that morning rumination can set the tone for the entire day, impacting mood, focus, and resilience. If our first thoughts are anxious, self-doubting, or passive, the day often reflects that. Conversely, when we speak in strength, clarity, and sovereignty—we prime our reality to respond accordingly.

Ritual as Alignment with Divine Will

As Members of the Temple of Lilith, we move with purpose. We manifest with will. We align with the deeper flame of our Higher Self with what some call Divine Will. One of the simplest and most powerful ways to do this is through a morning empowerment ritual.

The Šegû Sīsu spell-song is written to be short, potent, and fully charged. It shields the practitioner from harm, invokes Lilith and Inanna as forces of power and presence, and asserts command over the current of the day. It is not a plea to the divine, it is a proclamation of your own divinity in motion.

This practice takes only a few minutes and may be spoken aloud or whispered into your reflection. It may be paired with a candle, incense, or simply the rising sun. What matters is that it is claimed. It is best if you can perform this straight out of bed- before anything else, if possible.Or even in bed before you get up if you must. If you have to do other things first it is important to try and incorporate this into your day as early as possible for greatest effect.

I proclaim my path.I conjure my will.I command the day.

These aren’t affirmations. They are invocations of your true flame!

Begin Your Day as Flame, Not Ash

In a world that wants you docile and distracted, the act of beginning your day in power is revolutionary. It tells your body, your guides, and the world itself: I am awake. I am sovereign. I move with intention.

This spell-song is your morning armor and crown.

You are here to rise. You are here to command.

So let it be spoken. So let it become.

Šegû Sīsu: Morning Song of Power and Dominion

Temple of Lilith Spell-Song for Protection, Empowerment, and Commanding the Day

I rise with the flame. I rise with the storm.

I rise with the breath of all my names.

Eyes see me and honor me.

Voices meet mine and remember silence.

Hands move aside as I guide my own way.

Lilith, Cloak Me in the Ashless Flame.

Only truth draws near.

Only clarity takes root.

My energy is sealed. None shall feed from me.

Inanna, Crown Me in Dawn’s Gold.

My voice rings steady and heard.

My presence shifts what dares rise against me.

My feet walk the path of sovereignty.

I claim my strength. I act in power.

I am the fire that moves ahead of time.

I am the architect of this day.

Every breath is spell.

Every step is throne.

Every moment bends to meet my will.

I proclaim.

I conjure.

I command.

Let the day rise to meet me.

Let the world answer to my flame.

So it is spoken—so it shall become.

For the curious. The title “Šegû Sīsu” was crafted to reflect the temple’s mystical style and to align with the Sumerian-Akkadian linguistic structure  Here’s the breakdown of where it comes from and why it was chosen:

🔹 Šegû (Sumerian)

• Rooted in “šeg₆”, meaning feast, offering, or sacred consumption.

• “Šegû” is a stylized adaptation meant to imply “morning feast”, not in the physical sense, but as a feast of power, will, and sacred utterance—a spiritual offering to and from the self.

🔹 Sīsu (Akkadian/Semitic influence)

• Inspired by the root “sīsu”, related to rising, joy, or brightness, depending on dialect and context.

• In ritual tone, sīsu evokes the dawn, awakening, and emergence of light or awareness.

✴️ Together: Šegû Sīsu

Means something akin to:

“The Feast of the Rising,”

or

“Morning Offering of Power.”

It represents the ritual of rising with intention, feeding your spirit, and commanding the energies of the day. It aligns beautifully with our Temple of Lilith tone—poetic, ancient, sovereign.
