New Year’s Eve Spell Releasing What No Longer Serves

This spell uses the purifying and transformative power of fire to release the past and charge a talisman with your intentions for empowerment, growth, and transformation in the new year.

Materials Needed

• Black candle (symbolizing the Black Flame within: transformation, and inner power

• A small bowl of salt (for grounding and purification)

• A personal talisman (a piece of jewelry, charm, or object that will carry your intent)

• A fire-safe bowl or cauldron

• Parchment or paper and pen

• Essential oils (optional: patchouli for grounding, cinnamon for prosperity, or clove for transformation)

• Incense (optional, such as frankincense or myrrh for spiritual power)

The Ritual

1. Preparation:

Begin in your sacred space. Cleanse the area with incense or sacred smoke. Place the black candle in the center of a bowl of salt, grounding its energy.

2. Reflect and Write:

On parchment, write what you wish to release such as habits, fears, or obstacles from the past year.

3. The Fire’s Release:

4. Inspiring the Future:

Write your goals for 2025 on a parchment. Hold the parchment with your intentions to your solar plexus, your inner fire. Speak your goals aloud, letting the fire’s warmth bring the words to life, and say

“By the fire’s might and endless glow,

From ash and ember, my power grows.

I forge my path, the year unfolds,

A future bright, my will upholds.”

Place the parchment beneath or beside the talisman, letting them rest together for a moment or two while you empower the parchment with your desires. Then, burn it in the flame, releasing your will into the multiverse.

5. Charging the Talisman:

Hold your talisman in your hands, focusing on the Black Flame within you while gazing at the candle’s flame. Visualize the flame’s power flowing into the talisman, filling it with the energy of transformation, and creation. Say:

“O flame eternal, devourer and creator,

Your essence consumes and leaves me greater.

Through chaos and ash, my spirit ascends,

My fire transforms, yet never ends.
